Home Sweet Home
Home Sweet Home is a survival horror game based on the traditional fairy-tale of ‘Hansel and Gretel’. The player's goal is to escape the witch's home by solving a series of puzzles.
This was a final year group project for the level 6 team Mystic Brew who contracted me as a level 5 gameplay programmer. In this role I was responsible for developing the majority of the puzzles - this included: texture swapping objects, drinking mechanics, ventilation shaft escape routes, and weight-based pressure plates.
I made these elements as versatile and reusable as possible as I was only contracted for 5 weeks. It was important that the level designers and artists could easily change and repurpose the work I had done; therefore, much of my work was component-based and could easily be dragged and dropped onto different objects and elements.
